No picture today
Sunday, July 6th, 2008Yeah.
Yeah.
Most people that know me know that I can accept just about anything and move along without much of a hitch. For example, I haven’t had a bedroom since August and frankly I’m perfectly alright with it. I realize others aren’t as okay with something like that and that’s mainly why I’ve shown any interest in changing the situation. But that’s really just an example to lead into my main thought.
Expect pictures tonight after work. Things are working pretty much perfectly at this point but now it’s really late (or some might say early?). I’ll fill in some pictures for the past couple days so just be patient.
Indeed.
Now I need to go shave.
- On Tuesday I actually left the apartment on a day off. I met someone new who may or may not end up as a friend? I also walked around Portland for hours.
- I’ve started actually looking into how to change the design of this blog so it’s not this boring default setting. Usually I just said I planned on changing things but now I’m looking into the code and checking out themes online that may be easier to alter for my needs.
- Well, really that’s about it except I’ve been considering other additions and integrating stuff differently so there’s something put up or updated each day to make it potentially interesting for someone that actually checks here.
Once I finish this book I’m on I’ll feel a weight lifted from my shoulders and will start spending much more time on other things, like this blog. Which is sort of sad in itself.
Now? Not so much.
Whatever the case I’ve finally been bitten by the Facebook bug and have been using it for a week or two now and enjoy it entirely too much. There’s not a lot that happens between others and myself on there but I’ve been amused mainly due to the applications, most notably Scrabulous (aka Scrabble) and whatever the book one is that I use. Being able to list books I’ve read, books that I’m currently reading, and also books that I want to read. The last I use mostly as a helpful guide as to what I actually own and haven’t read yet, though I believe I’ve added a few titles that I haven’t yet purchased. Not sure on that one.
Lastly I’ve had way too much fun being able to look at only local profiles (those in the Portland, OR network) with different “favorites.” Seeing others that have Igby Goes Down in their profiles has provided a good list of people with good movie tastes! I’ve messaged a few in an attempt to possibly spark some conversation and the only person to reply is the one I least expected a reply from since I had no intention of replying to anything sent back my way. Oh well.
Of course it’s also totally awesome that there’s an application that works with Wordpress (this blog software) that makes it so new entries show up linked on my profile. That’s handy, though I don’t think many people realize I’ve been updating this a fair amount recently. Doesn’t stop me from writing.
The goal of this new section will be to upload at least one new picture each day. Don’t be surprised to find a bunch uploaded per day, though. I’m not really limiting myself and as I’m beginning to learn how to use my camera don’t be too surprised if I put up a bunch of pictures with only a few being all that interesting.
Very soon I’ll be working on the design of the blog itself and hopefully I can work out a much more interesting way of displaying the new section and any other new sections I may create down the road.
Instead it’s my father’s turn. Again. And this time it comes packaged along with a new step-mother and three new step-siblings. He proposed awhile back and I knew he was getting married this summer but I hadn’t heard a date until this morning so it sort of slipped my mind until it reared back into view.
That said I’ll be down in Springfield and Eugene for at least a few days. I’ll be asking for twentieth to twenty-second off (that’s Friday through Sunday) but I may get frisky and also ask for Monday and Tuesday off since those are my usual days off recently. Not sure if I’d stay in town that whole time even if I do have those days off but I may.
He came to me with talk of really simple website troubleshooting almost entirely devoted to help with HTML. I’m no HTML master but I’d like to think I’m quite proficient when it comes to most HTML stuff and what I don’t know I can quickly learn by searching online and retaining it. Simple enough. I was a shoe-in!
And then Bill had his interview for the job first and they didn’t get technical hardly at all and mostly focused on customer service. Customer service? Shit, I’m a master customer servicer! I’ve been doing this stuff since I was sixteen and know how to please people while getting work done. Put me in front of a customer and I’m smooth as hell.
100% job. Right?
Except for “Snake Eater.” There’s no way we could ruin a song with lyrics describing the act of eating tree frogs. Aside from that, though, it was a pit of shit that we formed for the past hour.
In other news I’m going to have no voice and less sleep than I should for my interview in less than six hours. I’ll update with something tomorrow with some results, hopefully favorable, towards me having a different full time job while relegating Best Buy to secondary status. Indeed.
Lastly, Bill wouldn’t sing with us. That likely means Bill sucks balls. It definitely means that. Bill sucks balls.
